"We're puttin' the band back together..."

Posted by Director on June 28, 2010

Planning is now underway for Frontiers fifth year of DCA competition in 2011, as well as performances in local DCI events, parades and concerts.

We're looking for creative, knowledgeable people to build the instructional and design team. We're looking for talented, artistic people to fill the performer ranks. We're looking for dedicated, hard-working people to support the corps. That's what it will take to be succcessful on the field and that's our goal for 2011.

If you're interested in joining the Frontier Family or just want more information, please go to the "Join Frontier" tab or click here.

If you're an alumnus - in any section - you're always welcome.

Once family, always family.

We've settled on a show theme and the design team is working on finalizing the music we'll be performing. The formal announcement of the title and theme will be coming in September.

Frontier Drum and Bugle Corps is an all-age corps located in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas, and an ensemble within the Frontier Performing Arts Association, a non-profit community arts organization founded in 2004.

What is an All-Age drum & bugle corps?

Many Texas drum corps fans and performers became aware of the drum corps activity by watching a junior corps (under the age of 22) perform at a DCI event.

However, many people are discovering that there are drum & bugle corps throughout the nation and the world that do not have an age restriction. These corps are called 'all-age' drum & bugle corps and most compete within the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) circuit. Some all-age corps, including Frontier, also compete in DCI's new All-Age Division.

All-age corps pride themselves on delivering...and work very hard to achieve... high-quality and entertaining shows. Since all-age corps typically rehearse and perform on weekends, members can maintain their work, school, and family commitments. Most all-age corps staff are or have been directly involved with the junior corps activity as well. All-age corps is a great way for high school students to gain performance experience and drum corps skills before trying out for a DCI corps. Frontier has sent members to DCI corps such as the Madison Scouts, Blue Stars, and Capitol Regiment.
